Responsibilities: Perform History and Physical exams, MRI and X-ray reviews, Pre and post-operative visits. Provide treatment plans for patients including surgical recommendations and non-surgical conservative care management, or referral for additional care. Worked closely with Orthopedic Surgeons, Neurosurgeons, Physiatrists, and Anesthesiologists for imaging reviews, MRI discussions, medication prescribing, medical/surgical complications, pre operative screening and clearance for surgery. Ordering of appropriate imaging and Diagnostic studies (MRI vs CT, EMG, Lab work, EKG's, Chest X-rays, etc) as well as knowing their indications and contraindications. Interpreting necessary pre-operative testing results, incidental findings, specialist consultation reports, abnormal labs and developing appropriate plan of care. Completion of pre-operative review of all patient cases and medically clearing patients for their upcoming surgery. Completion of post-operative visits to include post-operative education, medical evaluation for safe discharge, dressing changes, drain removals, pain management, suture removal, referral for additional care.
In addition to patient care, Team Lead duties include: Assistance in managing the clinic team of 12 APRNs/ Physician Assistants, 10 Medical Assistants, and administrative staff. Provided conflict resolution for both patients and staff, ensured visits were completed in a timely manner, assisted in staff scheduling, Peer Reviews, Chart Audits and Policy improvement for optimal patient care.
Infection Prevention Officer for the Clinic and ASC from 2017 to 2019. Monitored and implemented policies to help keep our infection rate less than 1% .
