Leads the drafting effort of supporting drafters in the preparation of the detail documentation package required to support his design. Aids in the development of drafting personnel with regards to good drafting practices and to STERIS’ policies and procedures requirements as related to documentation.
Design assemblies for best manufacturing process for components of design as to feasibility, cost, reliability, etc. Originates ideas and concepts of designs. Specifies code requirements in designs to meet UL, ASME, OSHA, NFPA, etc., as applicable by the design spec. Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of drawings in regards to views, dimensioning, conformance to Company engineering specifications and drafting standards; assists in the final drafting checking function, and aids in securing all necessary approvals for all drawings produced under his/her supervision.
Responsible for performing testing or assisting in testing of prototypes and pre-production products in accordance with test protocols. Prepare and writing test summaries. Interacts with vendors, suppliers, and consultants, on a limited basis, to assure compliance with requirements and specifications.
Component/sub assembly level oversight.
Accomplishments
Lead a group of a team of 6 Drafters, Technician in a complete project design, manufacturing, and meeting proposed deadlines with implementing Lean, Six Sigma practices. Complete testing on nine beta units meeting all required specification toward production. Trained new technicians/drafters to use PTC PLM in Pro-E to maintain complete documentation and revisions. Was responsible to write standards for STERIS Drafting Practices ANSI Y14.5. Skills Used
