As part of Legacy to Facets migration project, we migrated HMO, EPO and Large group end to end functionality. Blue Shield of California (BSC) has relied on its mainframe benefit administration systems for nearly 30 years and has reached the point where the cost and time taken to update these systems for meeting market demands became unacceptable and unsustainable. BSC selected Facets as the platform of choice. Facets would be the single system of truth for administering and processing Eligibility, Claims and Provider services. 4 major Lines of Business (LOB) – Preferred Provider Organization (PPO), Individual Family Plans (IFP), HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) and Small Group (SG) were migrated to Facets till 2014. Shield Advance Accelerate is to migrate the remaining LOBs.
