SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

I have over 25 years experience as a professional in safety and engineering in construction with strong leadership capabilities and the ability to direct complex projects from concept to fully operational status. I specialize in Behavioral Based Safety Administration. I have demonstrated that I can manage existing programs and create site specific safety programs working within established company guidelines or implement one from the beginning to the end of the project. I am organized, highly motivated, and a detail-directed problem solver. Over the years I have developed a proven ability to work in unison with staff, owners, subcontractors, venders and government agencies. I possess extensive experience with management and supervision including directed recruitment and retention of supervision, staff, subcontractors and vendors culminating with the coaching of improvement of skills and the successful refinement and implementation of safety plans and production scheduling. I assist in the management and development of large groups of diverse craftsmen into a focused, goal-oriented and cohesive group. I am not a stranger to working long hours in adverse weather conditions in remote locations at high elevations.

WORK OF EXPERIENCE

2017-2018 Safety Manager/Trainer, BVCI

At BVCI, I had the privilege to work on 2, two combined cycle power plants, one waste water reclamation project and one pipeline project. My responsibilities changed from project to project, but my primary focus was on the safety of the workers and environment and the protection of the property of the owner and the general public. As a safety manager it is my responsibility to train new hires and supervision. Establish contact with local emergency agencies and facilities, government agencies, utility companies and other entity that may be affected by our work. Administer weekly safety meeting and attend daily tool box meetings. Maintain documents and meeting minuets. Daily audits and safety inspections. Assist subcontractors in violation correction and document control. Make sure all Company, State, and Federal Rules and Regulations are followed. I also maintain an 80% presence in the field.

2015-2017 Senior Safety Specialist/Trainer, FLUOR, VOGTLE Nuclear Power Plant

My area was Balance of Plant ( BoP). As BoP Safety Specialist I was responsible for all supporting subcontractors, their work areas and the integration of their work within the facility. I also was responsible for sanitation, potable water supply and distribution. I trained with and worked with medical and Industrial Hygiene to maintain a clean and safe work environment. I also had to train new hires and supervision for all BoP personnel. Maintain documents and meeting minuets. Daily audits and safety inspections, while maintaining a high visibility presence in the field were among my responsibilities as well. Assist subcontractors in violation correction and document control. Make sure all Company, State, and Federal Rules and Regulations were followed.

2014-2015 Safety Specialists/Trainer, Jacobs Engineering, Niobrara Pipeline

During the construction of two pipelines and a two pipeline metering station my focus was on the safety of the workers, the environment and the protection o both the property of the owner and the general public. Train new hires and supervision. Teach PEC Basic introduction to Oil and Gas 10 hr.. Administer weekly safety meeting and attend daily tool box meetings. Maintain documents and meeting minuets. Daily audits and safety inspections. Assist subcontractors in violation correction and document control while maintaining an 805 presence in the field. Make sure all Company, State, and Federal Rules and Regulations are followed.

2011-2013 Site Safety Advisor, Mallory Safety and Supply, Seattle, Washington

Tuscarora Nevada, Geo-Thermal Power Generating Facility. Hayden Colorado, Hoyden Power Generating Station, Craig Colorado, Tri-State Generating Station. Lawrence Kansas, WESTAR Power Generating Facility, Akutan Alaska, Akutan Harbor Project was the projects I was responsible as a consultant. While all these projects are different and the locations are extremely different my responsibility for employee safety, protection of the environment, general public, private public property remained constant. My obligation to the client was to manage day to day operations of the safety program. This began with familiarization with local compliance regulations. Establishment of site specific safety programs in unison with local, state, federal and corporate regulations was my responsibility. Site must be in compliance with all federal, state, local and corporate regulations. As advisor it is my responsibility to enforce corporate regulations and maintain all safety related documentation. I also train and work with the client to make sure their safety rules are being obeyed as well.

2008 SAFETY SUPERVISOR OF MINING AND CONSTRUCTION, CLIMAX MINE, LEADVILLE, CO

Manage safety program for surface mining and construction under MSHA and OSHA regulations. Inspect property prior to operations for soil and drainage conditions. Train new hires on safety and how to work in adverse weather conditions. Manage accounts with vendors to assure just in time delivery system is maintained. Manage subcontractors to assure fleet is maintained and meets DOT standards. Assist craftsmen when necessary. Protect the general public at all times.

2007-2008 SAFETY ENGINEER St. ANTHONY’S FALLS I-35 BRIDGE MN

Orientate new hires. Teach and manage fall protection program (100%). Inspect tie off points and elevated work platforms. 24 hour 7 day work week with two shifts, assist in scheduling shifts and rotations. Attend weekly OSHA meetings and inspections. Assure all rigging is inspected and operational before critical lifts. Work with vendors and subcontractors to assure employees, working in temperatures of -40 and colder were issued proper PPE. Set up and maintain heating stations with portable heaters and generators, while monitoring air quality. Setup and inspect river and roadway barricades. Protect the general public at all times.

2005-2007 SAFETY DIRECTOR OF COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION, SHAW CONSTRUCTION, VAIL, CO

Oversee all aspects of the job including Administration of the Owner Controlled Insurance Program. Enforce safety policies. Manage site sanitation program and security. Implement and maintain site fire and high angle rescue plan. Train local Rescuers to assist in emergency rescues from high elevations and emergency evacuation. Manage waste water in accordance with EPA standards. Develop new safety plans and standards as the project expands. Protect the general public at all times.

Establish operating budget, and recruit reputable subcontractors to work within the budget. Implement and manage safety program. Conduct audits, reports, and investigations. Document control and maintain schedule. Orientate new hires.
