I am multi-skilled, talented, confident and hard working with all the tasks I perform. I have a practical background of successfully welding and fabricating stainless steel and various other types of metal and components. I have extensive knowledge of specialist welding machines and tools, including their designs, uses, programming, fault finding, repairs and maintenance. I have the ability to work well as part of a team or individually. I also have leadership skills and motivate a team to reach deadlines and work to the best of their ability. In my current position great attention to detail is required, thinking practical and beyond and staying focused is very important.

•Assisting with the purchasing of equipment required for the welding department

IMS Africa: Industrial Services & Welding Technology: September 2015 – October 2015 (Part-time)

I offered my services as a consultant to IMS to assist with the following:

•Purchasing of Welding machines and all relevant tools and equipment required for their workshop

•Preparing the workshop by building workbenches and welding sreens.

•Assisting with working through CV’s to find possible candidates to test.

•Testing the welding skills of possible candidates for work opportunities on Kusile Power station.

Steinmuller Africa: September 2009 – 17 August 2015

I worked on the Medupi, Kusile, Duvha, Kriel & Belchatow power station projects. My position was in the Welding Department under the Manager of the Welding Department.

•Test and program new welding equipment/machines

• Programming of various welding machines (example: AMI machines, Techno data machines, Inbore and more)

• Building / Reconstructing and repair of welding heads

•Make Welding procedures for company to be used for production

• Training and testing new welders to work on production. Constantly monitoring the fitting, burning and welding process. Requesting of NDT on their test pieces to ensure if weld is acceptable all the way through before being qualified. (Welding instructor)

• Supervising of welders, numbering of pipes and requesting of necessary test that are required. Constantly monitoring the fitting, burning and welding process. Ordering material from stores required for project. (Welding Supervisor)

•Welding components in flat, vertical and overhead positions

•Accurately examining and measuring work pieces for defects etc

•Preheating pipes and work pieces using hand torch (knowledge of heating furnace and local heat treatment with ceramic blankets)

•Notifying managers of defective material or equipment and repair if required.
