Dear Hiring Manager,

As a recent graduate from the Doctor of Pharmacy Program at the University of Waterloo, I am excited to apply for the Pharmacist position at your pharmacy. Throughout my undergraduate and post-graduate experience, I have had the opportunity to work at various fast-paced areas within the pharmaceutical field. With each of these experiences, I developed several capabilities which would help me contribute to your pharmacy: 1. Strong Clinical Knowledge: While at Windsor Regional Hospital, not only did I identify desired outcomes of therapies for patients, but I reviewed lab/test results to regularly recommend modifications to regimens using an evidence-based approach, in efforts to reduce length of hospital stays for patients.

2. Strong Time Management: While at Costco Pharmacy, I consistently completed 5-6 Meds Checks per week to ensure that patients were on appropriate therapies. To successfully do this, I divided my time effectively between prescription checking/adaptations/renewals, answering the constant flow of OTC inquiries, Naloxone training and administering injections and vaccines. 3. Excellent Teamwork Skills: My involvement as part of the Graduation Committee highlights my ability to work in a team. Each member undertook a specific area aligning with our strengths, myself taking charge of fundraising. Together, we were able to host a Graduation Formal for over 100 guests, all while staying within our budget. 4. Solid Communication Skills: In instances where I had to communicate modifications of therapies to the MRP, I made sure to use clear and concise wording. While at WRH, my recommendations had a 95% acceptance rate, resulting in me achieving an “exceeds expectations” grade from my inter-professional evaluation during this clinical rotation. I would appreciate the opportunity to further discuss my qualifications with you in person. I can be reached at 514-***-****, or Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to hearing back from you soon.
