The migration strategy encapsulates not only the migration of data and content to the latest IBM FileNet P8 version, but will also incorporate needed architectural consolidations and best practice recommendations. The “Wave 1” project also brings new functionality into the environment in the form of records management (IBM Enterprise Records), content ingestion (IBM Content Collector) and support for full-text document indexing and searching. FFIC also plans to replace the current customized U/I (Workplace) with an OOTB implementation of IBM Content Navigator. Also have extensive customization using plugin development in IBM Content Navigator. This move will shift them from a reliance on customization to a more streamlined approach. The migration will also leverage a hardware refresh taking advantage of the possible consolidation and streamlining of the environments while, memory and storage. The FFIC ECM project will provide long term value and support an ongoing SOA initiative.
