XB6 Converged device is a Gateway cable modem developed in-house in Comcast. It is a gigabit enabled device, allowing it to support higher speed Internet services of 150 & up, over Fiber/Coaxial cable Network. XB6 has a capability to provide multiple services. Phase 2 was to provide Phone and Internet service on standalone device.

Responsibilities:

Shaw’s Enterprise service Bus (ESB) was currently built on Oracle’s OFMW (Oracle Fusion Middleware)11g platform. ESI Program upgraded this platform from 11g to 12c. Accomplished the platform upgrade successfully to the prod.

Senior Test Analyst/ Business Analyst

Project Description: IPTV Program

Shaw’s current TV and video offerings are delivered using QAM technology which requires dedicated spectrum and installs certain limitations on offerings. The availability of technology to deliver television over internet using the Internet Protocol (IPTV) provides Shaw with an opportunity to make optimal use of available spectrum and bring services to customers that were not possible in QAM world.

The IPTV project comprises of many deliverables in separate releases.

Device Testing:

Xinfinity/Comcast Devices: XG1V3, Xid, XG1V4, Xi5, XB6 and Converged device.

Responsibilities:

Involved in requirement gathering phase and worked with stakeholders to understand the requirements.

Analyzed the requirement and documented in Mingle tool.

Wrote entry and exit criteria and test condition for each use case.

Wrote end to end business scenarios, testcases based on priorities.

Facilitated the lab for provisioning the devices.

IPTiers 20

This was a first step to introduce a set of 20 channels that will be delivered over IP-only (as opposed to the current QAM delivery). These channels were served as our first IP-only tier that will be available to Bluesky TV customers only.

Video Service Flow

Both FreeRange in-home and “All-IP” IPTV CPE configuration will rely on the customer’s internet modem (and not XG1 STB) to access external services. A new service flow was provisioned onto the modem to make sure that traffic for both is unmetered (i.e. that it does not count towards customer’s internet cap).

Home Depot is the largest home improvement retailer in the United States.
