Project Description: IPTV Program
Shaw’s current TV and video offerings are delivered using QAM technology which requires dedicated spectrum and installs certain limitations on offerings. The availability of technology to deliver television over internet using the Internet Protocol (IPTV) provides Shaw with an opportunity to make optimal use of available spectrum and bring services to customers that were not possible in QAM world.
The IPTV project comprises of many deliverables in separate releases.
Device Testing:
Xinfinity/Comcast Devices: XG1V3, Xid, XG1V4, Xi5, XB6 and Converged device.
Responsibilities:
Involved in requirement gathering phase and worked with stakeholders to understand the requirements.

This was a first step to introduce a set of 20 channels that will be delivered over IP-only (as opposed to the current QAM delivery). These channels were served as our first IP-only tier that will be available to Bluesky TV customers only.
