ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Choice of Plausible Alternatives (COPA)

• A premise having two alternatives expressing either a cause or an effect for the premise is given as the input in which one of them is the plausible alternative.

• A query is formed by combining the premise with each alternative and POS (Part of Speech) tagging is performed. Web scraping is done and the first 250 hits for each query is retrieved from the web pages.

• These results are then filtered for obtaining valid knowledge using five different approaches. These include determining the causality strength using CausalNet, semantic parsing with the help of K-Parser, usage of a language model as baseline approach. Using these probabilities, the plausible alternative is determined. An efficient aid for the diagnosis of Amelogenesis Imperfecta and Dental Fluorosis

• Developed an efficient algorithm for eliminating the differential diagnosis between Amelogenesis Imperfecta and Dental Fluorosis. Each of the images are segmented into three clusters using K-means clustering algorithm.

• Features such as energy, entropy, homogeneity, contrast, correlation, mean intensity were extracted from the training set of photographic color images of the diseases.

• Based on the extracted features, a classification algorithm having 88% accuracy was proposed. Smart farming systems using sensors

• A smart farming system with minimal manual intervention and enhanced productivity is designed where different sensors are strategically positioned in an enclosed area to monitor parameters such as moisture content, temperature, pressure, light intensity and pH of the soil.

• Based on the acquired data, the favorable environmental conditions are provided for the crops. PUBLICATION
