PROFESSIONAL EXPERIERENCE:
HX5/NASA-Johnson Space Center Houston Texas
Hypervelocity Impact Test Engineer 5/2013 to 6/2018
Drive for results. Performed hypervelocity testing and statistical analysis on the risk of damage to command and data-handling cables on the ISS. Demonstrated that actual risk was 33% lower than previously estimated. This information helped reduce the scope of effort, decreasing overrun costs in design, testing, and Program Management, and helped recover schedule delays. In addition, data was referenced by JPL for future interplanetary missions.
Excellent statistical skills. Performed testing and statistical analysis to estimate particle size for damage observed on shuttle mission STS-118. Results allowed NASA customer to improve ballistic equation models used for prediction purposes. Changes resulted in less expense for design and test and reduced schedule for future vehicle shielding.
Excellent communicator. Developed and presented briefing on test results to NASA, commercial customers, and test facility staff. Led discussion to resolve problems with testing and establish new direction for test program. The new direction enabled the Program to be completed before the end of the fiscal year deadline.

Orbital Debris Scientist 1/2011 to 5/2013
Combine disparate pieces of data to form a coherent story. Solved a vexing problem with a hardware limitation. Learned and used Fortran 77 and MATLAB to write programs that combined observational photometric data and look-angle data obtained from Air Force orbit propagation software to enable photometric and spectrographic analysis of light curves. Enabled NASA to provide rationale to allocate scarce high-value assets for gathering additional information to support continued planning for removing rocket bodies in orbit.

Sr. Battery Engineer 11/2006 to 1/2011
Program Management. Recognized by NASA for driving and coordinating the effort to replace nickel metal hydride batteries in two EVA battery systems. This was accomplished a month ahead of schedule and 10% under budget.
Analytical skills. Created program in MATLAB using information extracted from a research paper to develop design parameters for coils to be built for wireless power-transfer research. MATLAB results saved significant amount of grant money by avoiding the usual trial-and-error method. The results also contributed to maintaining the budget and schedule for the Program.
SAIC/NASA-Johnson Space Center Houston, Texas
Reliability Engineer/Data Analyst 1/2002 to 11/2006
Excellent statistical skills and communicator. Developed Weibull distribution probabilistic models of time-to-failure of the Shuttle Inertial Navigation System for key failure modes from the NASA KSC PRACA database. Provided predicted time-to-failure, providing key NASA stakeholders with metrics to gauge the health of critical space-based components. The results provided NASA Management with higher quality information to base their decisions to mitigate risks. This report became the standard for future NASA reports of this nature.
