Hologic, Marlboro, MA 2015 - 2017

For the summers of 2015 and 2016, and my winter breaks in 2015 and 2017, I worked as a contracted software engineer at Hologic. I wrote the code for the touch screen user interface of a medical product in Java. The GUI included 14 screens for controlling the system, including help and settings screens.

I also wrote an app for a test circuit board designed for the project. My app consisted of Java and C code running through an Arduino circuit board to control the test circuit board in order to test the product. This gave me experience in imbedded programming and device communication. Also, I collaborated with a hardware engineer to write the protocols and formal system requirements for the whole test system, and then we tested and evaluated the system to ensure it met the requirements we specified. In addition to Java programming, GUI design, test requirements, and documentation, I am also proficient in C, C++, Android, Scala, and Swift, having taken classes on all but Swift. I also have experience with virtual machines such as VirtualBox and VMWare, and transferring large amounts of data between these systems. PROFESSIONAL MUSICIAN

As a working musician, I have played for parades, Jazz “big band” performances, and a pit orchestra for a musical. For each, I had to prepare the music beforehand, show up well in advance to each performance to set up and warm up, and be prepared to modify my parts as per the director’s orders and play it as well as my prepared material. UNH Marching Band and Jazz Band, Durham, NH 2014-2018 As section leader of both the marching band and jazz band trumpet sections, I was in charge of running sectional rehearsals involving music and drill, assisting with festivals both groups were involved in, and leading the other members in performance. I have a Computer Science Minor from the University of New Hampshire. This entailed taking nearly all the same programming classes as Computer Science Majors, such as classes in Java, C++, C, Android, and Scala. Within these programming languages, I have experience in their functionality, strengths, weaknesses, and applications. I also took classes in data structures, program design, the relationship of software and hardware, object-oriented design and principles, functional programming design and principles, and operating system fundamentals.

I am also a graduated Trumpet Performance major from UNH. I have completed classes in Music Theory and Analysis, History of Music, Functional Piano, and have taken private lessons in Trumpet. My Trumpet instructor for four years is Dr. Robert Stibler
