Start machines or equipment in order to begin production processes. Turn valves to regulate flow of liquids or air, to reverse machines, to start pumps, or to regulate equipment.

Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects or deviations from standards, and make adjustments as necessary. Determine paint flow, viscosity, and coating quality by performing visual inspections, or by using viscometers.

Weigh or measure chemicals, coatings, or paints before adding them to machines. Start and stop operation of machines, using levers or buttons. Record operational data on specified forms.

Perform test runs to ensure that equipment is set up properly. Clean machines, related equipment, and work areas, using water, solvents and other cleaning aids.

Position spouts or chutes of storage bins so that containers can be filled. Break up defective products for reprocessing.

Cut or break flashing from materials or products.

Operate machinery used in the production process, or assist machine operators. Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards. Observe equipment operations so that malfunctions can be detected, and notify operators of any malfunctions.

Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using hoists. Count finished products to determine if product orders are complete. Mark or tag identification on parts.

Load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances. Help production workers by performing duties of lesser skill, such as supplying or holding materials or tools, and cleaning work areas and equipment. Clean and lubricate equipment.

Stone Production

I operated a forklift, worked on the production line, worked on a feeder line, worked in storage yard and warehouse. loading and unloading of materials. I also worked feed tanks.

Set the forms that hold concrete to the desired pitch and depth, and align them. Check the forms that hold the concrete to see that they are properly constructed. Spread, level, and smooth concrete, using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float.

Monitor how the wind, heat, or cold affect the curing of the concrete throughout the entire process.

Produce rough concrete surface, using broom.

Mold expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge. Clean chipped area, using wire brush, and feel and observe surface to determine if it is rough or uneven.

Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure surface of concrete, and waterproof or restore surface.

Operate power vibrator to compact concrete.

Cut out damaged areas, drill holes for reinforcing rods, and position reinforcing rods to repair concrete, using power saw and drill. Wet concrete surface, and rub with stone to smooth surface and obtain specified finish.

Wet surface to prepare for bonding, fill holes and cracks with grout or slurry, and smooth, using trowel.

Build wooden molds, and clamp molds around area to be repaired, using hand tools.

Push roller over surface to embed chips in surface. Sprinkle colored marble or stone chips, powdered steel, or coloring powder over surface to produce prescribed finish.

Mix cement, sand, and water to produce concrete, grout, or slurry, using hoe, trowel, tamper, scraper, or concrete-mixing machine. Intercore, Archbald, PA

Forklift Operator

I moved product from production floor to storage area, to loading and unloading trucks, movement of product from line to assembly floor. Position deflector bars, gates, chutes, or spouts to divert flow of materials from one conveyor onto another conveyor.

Weigh or measure materials and products, using scales or other measuring instruments, or read scales on conveyors that continually weigh products, in order to verify specified tonnages and prevent overloads. Record production data such as weights, types, quantities, and storage locations of materials, as well as equipment performance problems and downtime. Clean, sterilize, and maintain equipment, machinery, and work stations, using hand tools, shovels, brooms, chemicals, hoses, and lubricants. Read production and delivery schedules, and confer with supervisors, to determine sorting and transfer procedures, arrangement of packages on pallets, and destinations of loaded pallets.

Contact workers in work stations or other departments to request movement of materials, products, or machinery, or to notify them of incoming shipments and their estimated delivery times.

Load, unload, or adjust materials or products on conveyors by hand, by using lifts, hoists, and scoops, or by opening gates, chutes, or hoppers. Operate consoles to control automatic palletizing equipment. Distribute materials, supplies, and equipment to work stations, using lifts and trucks.

Observe packages moving along conveyors in order to identify packages and to detect defective packaging.

Thread strapping through strapping tools; then secure battens with strapping to form protective pallets around extrusions.

Inspect product load for accuracy and safely move it around the warehouse or facility to ensure timely and complete delivery.

Move controls to drive gasoline- or electric-powered trucks, cars, or tractors and transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas. Move levers or controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams with swivel-hooks, hoists, or elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, or stack material.

Position lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, or boxes and secure material or products for transport to designated areas. Manually or mechanically load or unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, lifting devices, or other transport vehicles. Perform routine maintenance on vehicles or auxiliary equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, recharging batteries, fueling, or replacing liquefied-gas tank. Weigh materials or products and record weight or other production data on tags or labels.

Turn valves and open chutes to dump, spray, or release materials from dump cars or storage bins into hoppers.
