Jim is a good writer and communicator skills, who is comfortable with the C-Suite.
Working with the USAA bank, Investment Management Company Divisions, he has made himself familiar with PCI, HIPPA, and other regulatory requirements.
His experience with IT Project management gave him the opportunity to develop real expertise identifying business, budget, and systems risks and risk mitigation strategies.

Significant Accomplishments
Jim researched, inventoried, and documented over 100 external business partners for whom there was no source of record. He then created procedures to be circulated to each vendor so that they could make any necessary security changes, as USAA’s Internet firewalls were introducing a new layer of complexity that would have disrupted business.
He played a significant role in building out USAA’s wide area network environment to handle Business Continuity.
He provided guidance and leadership to many projects that upgraded their procedures and processes, infrastructure, and/or transmissions to address new and changing regulations.
Jim supported the Investment Management Company’s decimalization effort by analyzing existing traffic, sizing, ordering, implementing, and encrypting the necessary circuits
By collecting and providing network documentation, Jim assisted the Bank with any audits, providing explanatory inout when needed.
He managed the simultaneous upgrade of twelve test firewalls, coordinating the functional testing of applications that were in the test phase during the cutover.
Experience in diverse domains allowed him to provid project management support to the voice and development teams in ordering and installing new SIP trunks and edge equipment as part of a project intended to enable member calls via the mobile application
Jim ran the voice effort to transition from one vendor’s metered long distance service to SIP-based voice traffic carried by another, cutting expenses for long-distance calls by 50% for that carrier’s calls.
He oversaw the upgrade of the corporate Oracle environment, addressing speed, capacity, redundancy, and business continuity issues in the process.
