Head of Hardware Systems, Consultant

Director of hardware system design for start up company's premier wall mountable energy storage device. Prime technology leader developing full product. Working with other senior company leaders on feature set and competition, KPIs, budgeting, production, certification, sale, investments, support, testing, procurement and manufacturing. Assisted in creation of patent claims for company inventions.

Designed, coded, tested and documented embedded software for battery management systems for energy storage device. Included C based CANBUS interface code between dedicated Nuvation and Orion BMS modules and AWS IoT Raspberry Pi Linux based processor. Designed hardware configuration to affect monitoring and control of the system. Built and tested 2 prototypes and designed 3rd. 2) MagicLeap Sunrise, FL. August 2017 – May 2018

Lead Test Engineer for Device Battery and Power Systems. Led team to develop and implement extensive test procedures for verification of device power state including power management, boot up and shut down, performance, charger and battery. Found and report many significant issues. Main liaison to development at coordination meetings discussing power management design and verification.

3) ARRIS Boca Raton, FL Formerly PACE September 2015 – March 2016, July 2016 thru April 2017. Principal Software Engineer

Full software development cycle responsibilities for ARRIS/PACE new and legacy TV set top box (STB) product sets.

Code development, test, release and factory support for manufacturing test platform and customer deliverables. Using C/C++ and CVS repository tools in Linux Fedora. Highlights include debugging of crashes, updating and troubling shooting APIs, low level Broadcom CPU interfaces to communication and audio devices 4) Global Technology Systems (GTS), Riviera Beach, FL 9/2012 thru 9/2015 Embedded Project Leader

Full product lifecycle responsibilities for GTS’s Genius Battery Family. Smart batteries with on board Atmel micro controller. Responsibilities include embedded software and hardware design. C software system including battery State of Health, I2C communications, charging and protection system. Also analysis of SHA-1 authenticated printer to battery communications.

Assisted with batteries hardware design and verification including protection, charge/discharge and communications. 5) Siemens Molecular Imaging (MI), Knoxville, TN 1/2012 thru 8/2012 Digital Project Leader

Full product lifecycle responsibilities for the Siemens MI PET products including technical design and project management. Responsibilities include Engineering Change processing, FGPA design, circuit board design, test, verification and inter departmental communications. Localized an issue with data processing on a Fibre Channel link implemented using Xilinx Virtex 2 Pro Rocket IO and SFF SLC optical connections. Eric M.
