• Conducted research under my advisor’s guidance and sponsor’s supervision. The objective is to improve osseointegration into 3D-printed Ti6Al4V scaffolds using polydopamine coating and relevant secondary reactions.

• My responsibilities include literature search, performing experiments, organizing and analysing the obtained data, reporting regularly to my advisor and sponsor.

Small Scale Ethylene Oxide Plant, Chemical Process Systems Design Project (Aug 2017—Dec 2017)

• Designed and delivered 3 memoranda for a small-scale plant that converts ethylene to ethylene oxide.

• Developed a complete design flow sheet. Performed calculations and delivered results on conversion, selectivity, plant specifications, economic evaluations, safety analysis, etc.

• Simulated the performance of the plant using Aspen. Immobilization of Cellulase Enzyme with Alginate Beads, Unit Operations Laboratory Project (Aug 2017—Dec 2017)

• Determined the feasibility of cellulose immobilization in calcium alginate beads, and explored factors (e.g. curing time, reaction time, number of cycles, types of substrates, etc.) that affect the activity and reusability of the enzyme.

• Analysed enzyme kinetics to better understand enzymatic behaviours. GHB Detection Device, BME Design Project (Aug 2015—May 2016)

• Conducted research with team members and proposed/finalized the design model of the prototype to serve as an early warning signal to people who may have been unknowingly exposed to GHB.

• Based detection methods on osmosis of sodium polyacrylate spheres in solutions.
