Dear to whom it may concern,

I am writing to propose my candidacy for the position as a research associate. I am a recent MSc graduate of Middlesex University from the Clinical Neurophysiology program and am eager for the opportunity to contribute to your research.

For my MSc thesis, I conducted research on Mild Cognitive Impairment using electroencephalogram in the temporal, parietal, and frontal regions. The intention of this was to determine the onset of first stages of Alzheimer’s Disease and aid in the development of an inexpensive early detection method. In my studies there was also a focus on laboratory and project management and protocols in hopes of inferring critical thinking for methodology and processes. I have also studied other diseases among these being Multiple Sclerosis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Osteogenic sarcomas and Nerve Compression Syndromes. I also have experience with studying Cardiovascular Diseases and Diabetes through Nutrition studies. Through this I have learned how mechanisms work individually and as a whole. This has helped with seeing the dynamics and complexities of the workforce as well. The skills I learned while serving were immensely beneficial in a plethora of areas such as; efficient and effective communication, attention to detail, teamwork and general customer service. The position being offered is interesting in that it offers the opportunity to work with the forerunners of clinical research and work towards the future of health and medicine as well as observe the research process. To work with the forerunners of aide and work towards the future of this community is a wonderful opportunity. I look forward to the opportunity to learn and grow as a professional and work as a part of a team. The chance to work with such a renowned research company is an amazing opportunity and I would relish the chance to do so. For my dissertation I learned a lot about the processes that are required in order to conduct research such as ethics approval and the financial feasibility of clinical research. During my studies we learned a lot of different computer programs as well as methods for conducting statistical analysis. Also after years of shadowing in hospitals for procedures and through my studies I have learned a reasonable amount of medical terminology. I am an adaptive learner and always excited to learn more and to be a part of such a vast team of scientists. I am willing to complete any training that will be required and receive any certifications. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours faithfully,

Kayla Dennis
