Portfolio of my works:

I’ve worked on various projects within my company and there are some where I took initiative to identify opportunities where I can add value within the company and also allow me to grow my skill set with exploring the different technologies. Although I wasn’t given as part of my job tasks to complete these apps, I had to go above and beyond often times staying late after work and working on weekends to finish the apps. The satisfaction you get when you see the app that you’ve created often simplifying someone’s work life and workload is priceless.

Shuttle Tracker App

Investec offers a shuttle service to and from the Gautrain station. Due to the traffic in Sandton, employees don’t know how long it will take for the shuttles to arrive and where the shuttles are. That’s how the Shuttle Tracker App idea was born.

Impact Magazine App

Investec offers monthly magazines to staff that keeps employees up to date with the happenings of the company. I saw a need for us to convert the magazines to digital format to allow staff to be able to revisit favourite articles but also to cut down on printing costs. I enjoyed creating this purely because I was learning a new technology IONIC 3 & firebase and at the same adding value to the company. Figure 1. Impact Magazine Bookshelf

page, previous, zoom in and out, download the

Access Card Attendance tracker

Investec offers training courses for staff members that offers them a chance at being better at something. I attended one of these sessions and I asked them why they still need us to sign the register. They said they have no way of doing it digitally and that’s how the card attendance tracker was born. The challenge with this application is that it needed to be a desktop app and someone use a card scanner to capture the access card number and some how at the end produce an excel report to feed into Oracle.

Descriptions of the other microsites (small internal sites) I have created: Online New Joiner Forms:

Previously, when newly –hired employees commence employment, they’re required to complete a New Starter form containing HR forms which include Employee details, SARS details, Next of Kin Info, Compliance information etc. After completion of the forms by the New Starter, the HR consultant had to manually capture the information on the HR system. The system that I was given to create, automated the whole process by creating an online platform which enable the New Starter to fill in their details and submit at any time such that the information pulls through to the HR System. Technologies used: C# ASP.NET, WEB API, Entity Framework, MS SQL, CSS, Javascript, JQuery Staff Volunteer:

Previously, when staff wanted to Volunteer their time, money and goods they had to email their intentions to our CSI (Corporate Social Investments) team to state their intentions of volunteering. This was a tedious process and the CSI team was inundated with emails from staff. This microsite was tasked to me to create a platform that allows users to volunteer time, money and goods on. For time there’s a list of all the events that they could volunteer their time on. For money, they can state how much they are donating towards a cause and for goods they can state that they want to donate goods that they want to donate to any charity listed by the CSI team. Technologies used: Angular, C# Web API, Entity Framework, MS SQL, CSS Information Centre Site

Previously, staff had no knowledge of all the media items that were present at the media centre. Some staff felt it tedious to go to the Information Centre, browse through their catalogues and then take out a book. There needed to be an automated system for this whole process. I was tasked with creating the Information Centre Site which lists all the media items and corporate journals out on loan by them. It allows staff to loan the books/media items on the site and aswell as place an order for a book if it is out on loan.

Technologies used: Angular, C# Web API, Entity Framework, MS SQL, CSS Joiners & Leavers

This is a site we maintain on a daily basis with fellow team members. It allows managers to capture every employees details that is starting in that team. The system then calls processes in the background that communicate with other systems to fully create employment for the joiner from creating email for the user to capturing the hardware requirements for the joiner. Technologies: Javascript, Web API, Entity Framework, MS SQL, CSS
