Qualifications:
Growing up, I was fortunate to be a member of the Boy Scouts until I was 18, achieving the rank of Life Scout. This was not only a great opportunity for me to explore my passion for the outdoors, but also to learn group problem solving and take on new leadership positions amongst my peers. As a senior in high school, I started a business with a friend catching and selling lobster locally. This led me to attending Maine Maritime Academy, where I continued to learn new skills at a much more professional level. While in college I completed multiple US Coast Guard certifications including basic Marine Firefighting certification, Electronic Radar Observer certification, Open Water SCUBA license and an Ocean Survival certification. I also had the opportunity of taking welding course that exposed me to basic stick welding. From expanding my skills as a mariner I was able to pass my USCG 200 ton Mate’s License testing in April 2018.
