[The aim of this study was to determine the pharmacokinetics of retinoic acid.]
Biochemistry Masters Research (2011-2012) - Polyunsaturated fatty acid metabolism and affects on colon cancer cell biology in vitro.
[The aim of this study was to assess the effects of polyunsaturated fatty acids on colon cancer cell growth and biology in vitro and to determine how their metabolic biotransformations would alter these effects.]

[Spirit of Adventure is an outdoor adventure centre in Kwa-Zulu Natal. It specializes in team building and the building up of individuals through activities such as abseiling, raft building, hiking, rock climbing, canoeing and many other outdoor adventure sports. I was an instructor at Spirit of Adventure and was in charge of taking groups on the different activities and teaching them important life skills through their experiences.]
Habitat for Humanity Volunteer (2002).
[I participated as a volunteer in the construction of 100 houses in 5 days for the underprivileged community as part of the Jimmy Carter work project 2002 in Durban.]
Youth Ministry Team (2003)
[The ministry team I was a part of was associated with the Baptist Youth of South Africa. Our team was trained for the first three months of the year in drama, dance, music, life skills and counseling, and we then spent the rest of the year traveling around South Africa to different organizations such as schools, churches, hospitals, old age homes, informal settlements and children’s homes.]
Youth Worker at Howick Community Church (2004)
[I was in charge of organizing the weekly youth events as well as other events such as camps, day trips and fund raising. I was also involved in preparing for and taking part in the children’s holiday club as well as teaching Sunday school every week. I taught life skills lessons to the grade 5 classes at the Howick junior school and also spent time mentoring teenage girls on a one on one basis.]

[Every Wednesday I would run the pre-school for the morning. The main focus of my time with the children was to teach them English through stories, arts and crafts, songs and prepared lessons.]

[SWAT and G63 were programs that ran every Friday. They aimed to provide a caring and supportive environment for junior school children (grades 4-7) and high school children respectively, teaching important life skills and principals.
