During my high school career, I was given the opportunity to participate in a program called, Encounters With Canada. It is a program that invites young high school leaders to participate in a week of fun with other students from all over Canada and to learn about our country in the nation's capital. It was an amazing experience to broaden my scope of relations with students outside Alberta.

Volunteering:

In my grade 12 year at Springbank Community High School I participated in Pink Shirt Day, it is a day that is used to bring awareness to bullying. As well I helped with selling shirts to raise money for Bell Let’s Talk which is used to fund professional help for both youth and adults who are affected by bullying.

In 2014, one year after my exchange program to Spain, I was asked by the program coordinator to speak to the upcoming exchange students about what to expect. I was there for an afternoon to answer any questions or concerns students had before leaving as 3 months is a long time to be away. After speaking to some students, I had several reach out to me during their exchanges to ask for guidance and encouragement.

As a previous competitive figure skater, I volunteered one night a week, every week, to teach young kids between the ages of 3 and 9 to figure skate and to learn how to be safe on the ice.

At Springbank Middle School I volunteered my lunch hours twice a week to help the receptionists with answering phones and other office duties.
