PROJECTS

Investigation on Tribological Behaviour of Cu/ (AlCoCrFeNiZr0.008) Surface Composite

• This work is based on Synthesizing Cu/AlCoCrFeNiZr0.008 (5, 10, 15 vol. %) copper matrix composites (CMCs) on pure copper substrates through Friction Stir Processing (FSP).

• Wear behaviour of Cu-AlCoCrFeNiZr0.008 metal matrix composite is studied for varying reinforcement content, applied load, sliding speed and distance.

• Using the Taguchi analysis method the optimal combination of process parameter for minimum wear is found on the level, highest level of weight % of reinforcement along with the lowest levels of applied load, sliding speed and sliding distance.

Line Balancing and productivity improvement in load sensing proportioning valve assembly line using SWCT tool

• Improved the process by combining the use of people, machine and material to do the job with minimum waste and shortest repeatable time

• Reducing the lead time by automating few processes at different stages of the assembly.

• Cycle time was reduced from 153 seconds to 134 seconds and increasing the productivity by 6,600 components per year.

• Rupees 4.76 per component was saved after implementation. EDUCATION
