Consolidation of financial reporting
• Revised financial reporting to incorporate operational metrics and statements of cash flows across multiple companies, industries and systems. This allowed the producing of consolidated financials despite the disparate systems. Managed change in corporate structure
• Responsible for the conversion from C-Corp status to multiple LLC entities. Process automation
• Designed billing and A/R system and managed project from programming through installation.
• Automated numerous marketing, accounting, payroll, and reporting functions utilizing servers, PCs and automatic data capture.
• Led project to computerize load-out systems for truck and rail shipments.
• Managed the implementation of document imaging system utilized across multiple departments.
Cost controls and containment
• Implemented supervisory Training Program which included Worker Compensation responsibility. The result of the training and responsibility change was an initial and on-going savings of $100k/year due to a reduction in the number of claims and claim severity.
• Revised the process of tagging and permitting equipment in the transportation industry resulting quarterly fuel tax savings of $100k.
• Maintained headcount in departments I managed while revenue grew from $48m to$127m. Training and team building
• Reorganized and trained administrative personnel in areas of purchasing, inventory control, cost reduction/waste elimination.
• Trained and supervised staffs/departments including, general accounting, fixed assets, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, billing, permits, and IT.
