Dear Sir or Madam:

I am a graduate of Columbus State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and a recent graduate of Walden University with a Master’s of Science as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner – Board Certified. As an experienced and fully licensed Registered Nurse dedicated to the mission of compassionate patient care, I feel that my education and training make me an excellent candidate for the open Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) position offered with this company. I am very much interested in the Practitioner position advertised at this facility as I seek to enhance my knowledge and skills as a Nurse Practitioner. I am a firm believer that my experience as a floor nurse has helped me to realize and understand the amount of hard work and proven dedication it takes to advance in my career.

Through my coursework and professional practicum work experience, I have obtained a realistic view of what it takes to establish one’s self as a proficient practitioner, utilizing the best and most recent evidenced based practice in the process of creating a care plan for one’s patients. Per my resume, I have proven my skills and dedication as a previous Home health nurse, correctional nurse. I currently work PRN as a psychiatric nurse and full time as a Med-Surg/Ortho nurse and have grown to understand the importance of collaboration amongst disciplines. My qualifications include the following: A current Georgia licensed Registered Nurse, and recently Licensed as a PMHNP-BC. My experiences include working with consumers in mental health, developmental disabilities, addictive diseases, long-term care for adults and adolescents, minor first aid, medical emergencies, med-surg and developing nursing care plans.

Above and beyond my skill in safely administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and performing bedside care, I have also been a very passionate advocate for my patients and brought a warm satisfying spirit of quality care as I intend to continue into my role as a practitioner. I feel that my comforting approach to educating patients and their loved ones about health- related issues that may affect them, helps to create an open, positive environment that lifts patients’ spirits, even in challenging circumstances.

My communication and documentation skills are top-notch. I understand the importance of being clear and thorough in providing pertinent information and rationales that give justification for decisions made. I am an excellent listener and follow directions, even under pressure, flawlessly. I’ve collaborated well with a variety of other medical professionals to achieve our joint goal and mission of improving the quality of patient’s lives.

I would truly appreciate the opportunity to meet and further share with you my qualifications and

enthusiasm for becoming a part of your company’s team. I invite you to review my attached

resume, and thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Tacara Hemingway, PMHNP-BC
