Amazon.com
April 2012 – November 2015 - Seattle WA - SR. Business Analyst
PrimeNow – Chosen to manage BI needs for Amazon's new PrimeNow (one hour delivery service) specifically local depth and breadth of Selection in each local city, and in-stock performance of inventory. Created Selection/Inventory algorithms to optimize breadth and depth of inventory selection at all PrimeNow local markets.
Key Accomplishments
Developed extensive ‘Deadwood’ logic to identify at day 90 which inventory is no longer valuable to carry and worked with business on how to eliminate by cubic capacity and the selection with which to replace it. Result saw a 5% increase in sales penetration one week after implementation.
Sole analyst developing key In-Stock and Selection KPIs, and dynamic reporting dashboards allowing my internal customer base more flexible tools to support the needs of the business.
Created model identifying healthy inventory levels for every specific item PrimeNow in 15 distinct markets. Surfaced to the business inventory we didn’t carry enough to meet demand or carried too much. Resulted in right-sizing warehouses over capacity not needing to build more warehouses.
EXTERNAL FULFILLMENT – Sole Business Analyst / BIE supporting three key functional roles in Amazon’s Operations organization - (Dropship / Vendor Flex / 3PL).
Key Accomplishments
Independently audited and re-built all pre-existing manually generated reports into fully automated and actionable reports (creating new metrics the organization had desired but was previously unable to create) using Amazon’s internal ETL/XML tools (MEGA).
Created analysis that identified and implemented regional Air-Method shipping standard to which Dropship’s vendors are currently held. Once corrected, the result saved in ‘would be’ air-shipments that went ground method, resulting in $2.5MM savings annually.
Created data models that identify vendors that would be profitable Vendor Flex candidates, potentially saving Amazon the cubic capacity of 0.5 fulfillment center and $13MM in-inbound shipping costs in 2014.
OnStar
September 2006 - April 2012 – Detroit MI – Manager, Analytics
Service Retention – The OnStar service is free for one year on all new GM vehicles.
