In the wake of the existing president’s abrupt termination, I was awarded a consulting agreement at Heroflon USA as acting managing director to reorganize national sales efforts for existing industrial products and enter the personal care market with FDA approved materials. Also consolidated sales and distribution efforts into a singular location to improve efficiency and allow for expansion.

Once promoted to this position, I used my manufacturing knowledge to renegotiate volume contracts and drive down spot purchases to a level that reduced annual expenditures by $5MM and lowered inventory stores from a 30 month to 10 month supply.

Plan, coordinate and execute purchasing strategies for PTFE and melt processable fluoropolymers.

Strategies included; monitoring inventory categories and levels (both in-house and in-transit), relate customer order patterns to raw material demand, maintain a continuous connection to the manufacturing group, monitor currency fluctuations, evaluate key market indicators of supply and demand trends.

Negotiate spot and contractual purchases of both prime and reclaimed materials.

Transportation rate negotiations with domestic overland carriers and steamship lines.

Monitor tariff classifications, dutiable rates from point of origin and US Customs clearance procedures.

Frequent supplier-site visits to evaluate opportunity, maximize packaging efficiency and strengthen business relations.
