Reverse engineered the change from an eight to a ten digit Carrier Identification code. I achieved this by taking one byte from each field in the switch application, and transmitting them as binary packed, instead of straight text. This allowed us to make the change without having to upgrade any of the hardware in our switches, which save the company millions of dollars.
