Project Description:

With recent organizational changes, team was organized to control access for all users for various application across Aegon. Also, we provide support for various Oracle Database issues.

Responsibilities:

Participate in physical design, creation, and maintenance of databases.

Recover database in case of any accidental data delete or any other issue.

Maintain security of database by granting and revoking of privileges for individuals and groups. Adhere to company standards.

Project# 1: DRIVE Automation Tool.

Oracle DBA / Python Developer.

Project Description:

DRIVE is automated tool used to provision database on the fly, monitor different request raised by end client, add new servers available for Database Provisioning, and monitor different servers in repository. There is an option to resume the failed jobs from UI. DBA can view the logs for any database-provisioning request in UI.

Responsibilities:

Developed scripts in python 2.7 to automate Oracle 12c RAC Database provisioning. It includes GRID installation for Oracle RAC environments.

Designing and planning for the DRIVE Automation tool.

Oracle 12c RAC database installation, used as repository for DRIVE tool.

Developed Python scripts to receive and update data from other tools using REST API.

Developed Python modules for each sub task, for example send email, updating current job status, resume job.

Developed SQL procedures for various requirements such as fetch available servers as per client request.

Tested backup for DRIVE production database.

Developed scripts in shell to automate database installation steps.

Project# 2: IDM Stack Upgrade.

Project Description:

Oracle 11g IDM project was started to configure Identity Management with latest versions available in industry. With Oracle 11g IDM, we are able to manage end-to-end lifecycle of user identities across enterprise resources both within and beyond firewall. The 11g IDM services are configured as Active across different datacenter, hence leveraging the underlying resources along with High Availability.

Responsibilities:

Create 12c Oracle RAC databases on all the datacenter.

Install, configure and administer WebLogic server 10.3.6 on Red hat Linux 6 in both production and development environment and SOA environment.

Managed Weblogic clusters having various managed servers on cluster of machines.

Configured Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) directory server and directory integration on top of oracle database.

Install and configured 11.1.1.9 Oracle Internet Directory (OID) with multiple directory server instances.

Install and configure Webgate (11.1.1.9 OHS) on all the datacenters.

Integrate all the ERP environments with 11g IDM, including Production, Development, Test environment.

Developed custom shell scripts to start and stop Admin server and Managed Server services.

Project# 3: 11g TNS / LDAP Upgrade.

Project Description:

This project was to upgrade LDAP to new 11g TNS/OID with active-active setup across datacenters, hence providing High Availability. TNS is in use across all the application environments to connect to respective database services.

Responsibilities:

Create 12c Oracle RAC databases on all the datacenters.

Developed Automation Tool, using Shell script, for users to Add/Delete LDAP entries.

In case of any issue, manually Add/Modify/Delete TNS entries.

Install, configure and administer WebLogic server 10.3.6 on Red hat Linux 6 in both production and development environment and SOA environment.

Install Java EE development framework, Application Development Framework (ADF).

Install and configured 11.1.1.9 Oracle Internet Directory (OID).

Configure OID replication across both the Active Datacenters using Replication Environment Management Tool (remtool).

Authenticating client to directory server and establishing authorization identity using Bind Operations.

This project involves setting up a DR environment for the same environment. MVDC is a Cisco custom environment configuration over two datacenters, which makes the environments self-resilient in occurrence of loss of datacenter or nodes in the configuration. DR is a setup for business continuity in case of MVDC failure.

Responsibilities:

Setting up DG over two datacenters.

Setting up DataGuard broker with Fast-Start failover option.

Configuring SCAN listeners and registering database services.

Installation of EBS R12 on new Linux servers.

Refresh database/Apps non-production environment from production.

Project Description:

As part of co-hosting databases of Cisco Capital IT, this projected involved moving of database CFSPRD from CFS to ASM.

Responsibilities:

Build Oracle GRID 11gR2 on the target servers with OCR and Voting disks on ASM.

Create the Oracle ASM Disks.

Create the Oracle ASM Diskgroups.

Cloning the Oracle RDBMS codetree on the target servers.

RMAN Duplication of the database as standby to target.

Setting up DG.

Monitoring shipping and recovery of the DG.

Shutdown the source database at cutover.

To restore services in case of Real Disaster, we will conduct Disaster Recovery (DR) Resiliency testing. All critical applications are obligate to be Resiliency Certified. As part of testing, we will imitate the DR situation and record the time taken to resume business.

Responsibilities:

Design and Building the DR environment (usually at 50% of Production environment) using Oracle DataGuard and replicated storage.

Simulate DR scenarios like network, host and datacenter outage.
