Supervised nursing students’ development of clinical skills at the Tucson VA Hospital. Arranged a variety of student experiences including: time with nurse practitioners in specialty areas, CRNAs in the OR, home visits to an Indian reservation, and a family planning clinic. Fostered students’ creation of nursing care plans, through their utilization of the nursing process, while maintaining high standards for evidence based research and literature review.

Provided patient care at two separate Centura facilities in Colorado. Floated to five areas at St. Anthony’s level I trauma center in Denver, CO. Invited by management to assist with the opening of a four bed ICU in a community hospital in Frisco, CO. Treated patients with altitude sickness, orthopedic ski injuries, exposure/frostbite, and cardiac complications secondary to altitude. Continued working at UMC in Tucson, while traveling on assignment in Colorado.
