Work Experience

Transmission Engineer – Broadcast Authority of Zimbabwe (BAZ) [June 2015 – December 2016]

Zimbabwe Digital Terrestrial Television Migration (DTT-Migration) Project - Transition from analogue TV to digital terrestrial TV broadcasting.


•Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance programmes for optimal network performance which include routine checking procedures, fault diagnostics and repair strategies.

•Analyse alarm log details to establish to establish fault trends and develop corrective and preventive measures

•Carry out first line maintenance on the standby generator plant, rectifiers and batteries

•Continuous monitoring of network status so as to ensure timeous intervention in the in the event of problems

•Implement configuration changes in order to optimise network performance

•Installing DVB-T2 transmitters, antenna, master control room, studio equipment, playout system

•Investigating equipment failures and implementing procedures to avoid future problems

•Receiving and recording satellite feeds, ensuring accurate signal transmission. Assisting in quality control on all incoming and outgoing digital and analogue signal feeds.
