Project Controls Manager

Consulted ExxonMobil Exploration’s Technical and COINS (Contracts and Invoice System) groups. COINS tracks and reports project budgets, original and current values for contracts, work assignments, work orders, general agreements, continuing works and services agreements, including change orders and amendments and their associated invoices for all technical geophysical services projects. To date, integrated COINS with both the corporate accounting and time writing systems and changed it from a “flat” stand-alone tracking and reporting tool to a corporate “desktop” version where all project personnel, management, contracts, and exploration procurement can view project/contract status’s and their spend online.

Developed ExxonMobil Exploration’s new Global Seismic Project Management, Controls, and Data Systems (SPRMan). Completed the implementation of these systems for use by worldwide ExxonMobil management and processing project teams. Designed, developed, and wrote procedures for the new system. SPRMan is a fully integrated, project schedule driven system, utilizing Microsoft Project® 98, Access, and Excel and includes automatic project reporting at any level of the corporate structure. It includes a variety of project controls, such as project schedule, project staffing, progress tracking, resource management and leveling.

Developed a program that facilitates the ExxonMobil 5 year Planning and Budgeting (P&B) process for their Technical Division’s Geophysical Operations and Seismic Processing groups.

Developed a module of SPRMan to handle all projects and corporate reporting simultaneously. This new system included the balance of project control modules such as estimating, contract plan, process, and management, forecasting, etc., and is integrated with their Planning and Budgeting process.

Trained and consulted each ExxonMobil seismic processing project team in the various aspects of project controls and management and the SPRMan system. This includes advising and assisting in the development of the Microsoft Project 98 schedule, estimating resources, commitments and forecasting expenditures. Also, project tracking, managing change orders, staff management, reporting, and other aspects are critical in gaining control and managing projects.
