Job Objective: A position with a Quality Control / Assurance team where I can use my skills and years of experience to assist a progressive company to move forward in meeting their company and customer objectives.

Work history:

1995 – 2018. 23 years as Quality Assurance Manager at Powers and Sons, LLC., Montpelier, Ohio, and Productos Powers de Mexico, Juarez, Mexico. Annual sales of $58.6 Million. Tier 1 Supplier to Big Three Automotive Manufacturers and Heavy Trucks. Responsible for incoming quality of suppliers materials, internal quality of production parts and the quality of finished product at the customer. If an assembly plant realized a problem with our parts, I was the first person that was notified. Provided liaison support on a regular basis to our customer assembly plants. Responsible for the quality of the production parts in Montpelier, Ohio, and for the production parts in Juarez, Mexico. Spent significant time with customers and 3rd party audits at both Ohio and Juarez, Mexico, locations. Led company through QS 9000, TS 16949 and IATF 16949. Customer rejects were 11 ppm. Key player in 2015 multi-million dollar Chrysler recall. Head of the Quality Assurance Department with 5 Quality Engineers, 1 Quality Technician, 2 meteorology technicians, and 7 hourly floor inspectors in a UAW Union environment.

1992 – 1995. Worked as Director of Quality for Universal Tool and Stamping in Butler, Indiana. Tier 1 supplier to Big Three Automotive Manufacturers and Honda, Mazda, Nissan Japanese Automotive Manufacturers each with unique Quality Systems and Standards.

1990 – 1992. Worded as a Quality Engineer for United Technologies in Wauseon, Ohio. Tier 1 Supplier to General Motors and Mazda with interior door panels, head liners, sun visors. Member of the General Motors H-Body launch team traveling to Detroit, Michigan, and Wentzville, Missouri.

1988 – 1990. Worked as Senior Quality Engineer with Federal-Mogul Corporation National Seal division in Van Wert, Ohio. Job duties included Quality Improvement, Quality Planning, problem solving, vendor and customer relations and vendor and customer quality requirements. I worked with raw material suppliers performing quality audits at their facilities and surveys of potential suppliers. I served as a resource person for the departments within the plant in regard to Statistical Process Controls, Statistical Problem Solving, Quality Improvements and Quality Planning. Among other accomplishments was certification of our products to our customers including Detroit Diesel Corporation, Caterpillar, Navistar, Dana, and our sister National Seal Plants in South Carolina and Indiana pertaining to Ford Q-1 surveys.

1976 – 1988. First-Line Supervisor at General Motors Central Foundry in Defiance, Ohio, in Quality Assurance, Material Control, and Production. Responsible for supervising final inspection functions of UAW personnel, customer quality problems, customer contacts, and liaison teams between customers and the foundry. As First-Line Supervisor in Material Control responsible for attendance, training, safety, discipline and output of 28 UAW employees in a two-plant, multiple shift operation. Supervised the receiving, unloading, storage and moving of productive materials to various departments in the two-plant operation.

1972 – 1976. UAW hourly worker at General Motors Central Foundry, Defiance, Ohio

Higher Education: 1987 Graduate of GMI Engineering and Management Institute in Flint, Michigan, with a Masters Degree in Manufacturing Management. GPA 3.255 on a 4.0 scale. 1984 Graduate of The Defiance College, Defiance, Ohio, with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management and Chemistry. GPA 3.24 on a 4.0 scale. Graduated from Riverdale High School, Mt. Blanchard, Ohio.
