Obtained extensive experience with natural, physiologic labor and birth including water birth and an array of alternative pain relief measures. Finessed skills in intermittent fetal monitoring, therapeutic rest with medications, IV hydration, management of labor dystocia, hand maneuvers for birth in various positions, Leopold’s maneuvers, identification of appropriate transfer of care to hospital, newborn assessment, laceration repair, management of obstetric and neonatal complications, breastfeeding support, and more. Primary provider with support of precepting CNM in 24 births.

Coastal Carolina OB-GYN (Delivery at Conway Medical Center) January 2016- April 2016

Completed 334 hours as a student nurse midwife, caring for women of all ages and stages from menarche to post menopause. Finessed skills in: contraception counseling, STI screening, diagnosis of vaginal discharge, annual exams, pap smear collection, IUD placement, prenatal care, management of abnormal uterine bleeding, leading Centering Pregnancy groups, head to toe exam, pelvic exams, sterile vaginal exams, placing internal monitors, performing newborn assessments, management of pre eclampsia and gestational diabetes in pregnancy and labor, labor management, birth induction, labor augmentation, birth maneuvers, laceration repair, management of obstetric emergencies including postpartum hemorrhage and shoulder dystocia, postpartum care, breastfeeding support, documentation and more.
