IT ATC Technician (Intern & Full Time) – December to January 2016 / June to September 2017
My team physically handled installing equipment needed in the data center for customer proof of concepts. The gear was unboxed, put together, installed, and cabled in one of our many racks we have in one of our three Advanced Technology Centers (ATC’s)
During my time with the rack & stack team I assisted with the following:
oRe-cabling the core of the ATC
oInstalling and cabling several devices for multiple proof of concepts for customers
oSetting up a World Wide Technology’s third data center from the ground up
Accomplishments
Racked, cabled, and configured a CCNA Lab in our datacenter for employee training.
Troubleshot configuration issues on several devices in our data centers for engineers.
Assisted in the racking and cabling of 200 servers for a tier 1 customer in our data center.
Assisted with the inventory management of loose device rails across three datacenters.
Technical Operations Network Engineer (Intern) – May to August 2016
My team oversaw the configuration of all the equipment put into the ATC data centers to be used for customer proof of concepts. Each piece of gear had to be put on the proper network and named correctly, including set up for what the customer wanted to simulate their actual production environment.
During my time with the Technical Operations Team I assisted with the following:
oIdentifying which fiber extender switch (fex) ports in our data center were not being used and creating a detailed list of the engineers
oDefaulted all the un-used ports on the fex’s for them to be used on future proof of concepts
oI helped install and configure an ESXi server that was needed in our data center
Accomplishments
Completed the defaulting of core switch ports for a large proof of concept for a large customer in our data center.
Solved a configuration issue with the ESXi server that would not allow for the server to work in our environment.
Professional Services Developer (Intern) – May to August 2015
My team was developing a product called CPMigrator which migrates a built image to many workstations at once. These images are customer specific and eliminate the need to install programs on workstations one by one.
During my time helping develop this product I did the following:
oTested PowerShell scripts for errors and documented errors in Visual Studio
oHandle domain join scenarios and eliminated bugs that were found
oTested for program efficiency across different operating systems
oExplained the new features of our program to those who would be using the beta for their everyday tasks
oInsured our program did not have issues when joining different networks
Accomplishments
Identified a domain join bug that would have been catastrophic if it had slipped into the beta.
Successfully helped trained the Service Desk on how to use CPMigrator 3 for employee workstation imaging.
Service Desk Analyst (Intern) – May to August 2014
Employee’s go to person when experiencing workstation related issues.
Repaired or sent out all malfunctioning machines brought in.
Repaired network connectivity issues for employees.
Imaged or reimaged workstations for employees, along with retaining old data if necessary.
Logged inventory in excel and input data into ServiceNow.
Identified and removed threats from employee workstations.
Handled tickets pertaining to various employee requests utilizing ServiceNow.
Accomplishments
While at the Service Desk I developed a way to make sure the prompt for the imaging software to appear without having to restart the workstation. I was complimented on my findings by my peers and my processes were implemented in the next build of the imaging software.
