An investigation into breathing as a direct input in the virtual reality game

(Unreal Engine 4/Proposed by Logitech) 07/2018-09/2018

Developed a First Person Shooter (FPS) virtual reality (VR) game using Blueprint and C++ in Unreal engine 4.

Enabled the integration and implementation of three types of devices (microphone, MIDI, airflow sensor) as breath controllers in UE4.

Discussed the validity of breathing as a novel interface in VR as well as the evaluation and comparison of selected breath controlling devices with the support of from participants’ feedback. Traveling Sharing Website (HTML/CSS/EJS/Bootstrap/Node.js/MongoDB) 09/2017-11/2017

Built a full stack RESTful web application for people to share their traveling and comments.

Implemented frontend with HTML/CSS/jQuery, also Bootstrap was employed for the responsive UI.

Built middleware to achieve authentication and user authorization.

Google Map API is used to show the location of attractions. Exploited reCAPTCHA API to prevent abusive traffic.

Built backend with Express.js, using EJS for template engine and MongoDB for data storage on mLab. Deployed the app on Heroku using git.
