Projects
Study of the Wear Properties of Rapid Prototype Materials after Cryogenic Treatment
The project investigated the influence of cryogenic processing, on the properties of rapid prototyped Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) materials by subjecting the components to temperatures below 120K. The project successfully studied the impacts of cryogenic aging on the wear properties of the material. This project also included:
The investigation of cryogenic ageing of the material,
The effect of controlled ramp up/down on the ultimate and tensile strength,
The parameters affecting the wear rates.
The microstructural studies using SEM and EDAX.
Design and Fabrication of Pendulum Powered Water Pumps The project consisted of designing and fabricating a water pump using Ansys and SolidWorks for modeling. .The operation of the pump is based on forced oscillation of the pendulum. The project consists of three main systems:
The oscillating pendulum lever system
The system for initiating and maintaining the oscillation of the pendulum
The System uses the energy of oscillations of the lever. References

Interests
Due to the pendulum oscillation the linear movement is obtained in the lever which is connected to the piston pumping the water from the sump. Based on the oscillation the vertical movement varies and also the outlet of the water varies.
Power Generation Using Piezoelectric Tiles
A piezoelectric tile capable of generating 40V was devised through this project. The design and structural analysis of the piezoelectric tile was done using Ansys and Fusion 360.
The piezoelectric tile could convert the mechanical energy of vibrations to electrical energy with good efficiency. The weight applied on the tile and corresponding voltage generated was studied. It is especially suited for implementation in crowded area and can be used in street lighting without use of long power lines. It can also be used as charging ports, lighting in buildings.
