I.T. Director (Promoted from Network Administrator and then I.T. Manager) – Information Systems
As director, I was responsible for the IT department’s budget, which includes staff, procurement and outside contracts. I managed, trained and mentored IT staff placing a priority on their development in the IT field. Our department supported 500+ users over multiple states. Our systems included Dell, Cisco and Microsoft.
I provided roadmaps with costs and schedules for software, hardware and other service upgrades and migrations to a ‘steering committee’ created by representatives from each of the sibling companies. This required the ability to speak about technical subjects in a manner that was easily understood by non- technical people.
I oversaw our business continuity plans and ensured that policies supporting these plans were updated as technology improved and better solutions became available.
I was ultimately responsible for all technical services and requirements, including design, implementation, disaster recovery and continuing client support for MS Active Directory, Email (Exchange), Public Facing Services, Cisco Routers, Switches and ASAs, Business Applications, Intranet and Web servers. I planned and implemented multiple Active Directory and Exchange in place upgrades and multiple domain consolidations.
I directed the migration from CMAS (RPG) to Viewpoint (.Net/SQL) for 10 of our companies.
I directed the migration from in house software to Heavy Bid and Heavy Job
(HCSS). I aided in developing training plans for all Heavy Bid/Job users.
I created the budgets and managed the IT departments for Missouri’s first
(Christopher S Bond Bridge - $245 million) and second (Manchester Bridge - $65 million) ever design-build projects. In both projects, IT came in below budget and on or ahead of schedule.
