An interdisciplinary program designed with the essential elements of both electrical and mechanical engineering
Supported by hands-on experience in extensive lab work, design courses and its Co-op program. STUDENT DESIGN PROJECTS
Automatic LED Traffic Light Defroster: Designed and created an embedded system to defrost ice and snow buildup interfering with the visibility of traffic lights. The system measures both temperature and visibility, and turns on a heat source to defrost lenses. This design uses low power to save on energy costs. Intelligent Ground Vehicle: The annual Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition challenges students to design an autonomous vehicle to navigate through an obstacle course while avoiding objects and staying within boundaries. A system was developed to give the vehicle the ability to detect lanes, distinguish colors and maneuver accordingly.
