09/2008 - Present Recovery
Before September 8, 2008, I was an active alcoholic. Since that date, I have worked odd jobs to support myself while concentrating on recovery. I never want to drink again and wanted nothing to interfere with that goal.
During the past nine and a half years, I spent much time helping other alcoholics recover through the program of Alcoholics Anonymous. I also held many responsible positions in that program including General Services Representative and committee memberships. I have sponsored more than twenty-five recovering alcoholics.
While concentrating on recovery, I became interested in biotechnology. In September 2015, I enrolled in the program at Athens Area Technical College and will complete my degree in August 2018.
After nearly ten years of solid sobriety and service, I am confident of my ability to be an excellent lab technician, thereby continuing my interest in serving others.
