Senior-Level Management / Design Professional

With over 30 years of experience in planning, development, design, integration, documentation, and production of commercial, industrial and military products and systems, I have successfully managed complex and diverse, developmental projects for the smallest and largest manufacturers.

Product, Machine and System Design

• From concept to completion, I have designed and commissioned hundreds of machines and products for many different industries. Exposure to many different industries has increased my ability to offer each project a full range of methodologies, process control and technology integration. Very proficient with SolidWorks, 2d AutoCAD and 3D Printing. Program Management

• Developed and managed hundreds of commercial, industrial and military projects. Controlled scheduling, financial costing and reporting, risk assessment and mitigation and subcontractor management. Managed engineering effort, design documentation and conducted presentations at all customer, IPT and Quarterly meeting.

• Daily program manager duties include: project personnel management, cost control, scheduling, engineering documentation, customer correspondence, supervision of manufacturing and assembly, personnel duty conformance and installation supervision. Financial Management

• Prepared costing information for commercial, industrial and military contracts

• Daily cost control regarding multiple simultaneous projects in all different phases of design and manufacturing

Program Costing

• Tracked and mitigated program costs for personnel, material, equipment, commercial purchases and subcontractors

Budget Creation

• Created cost budget for all phases of projects, including labor, material, purchases and profit

Team Building

• Construct tasks and skill set teams allocating technical resources needed to meet the special requirements of individual SOWs

Quality Assurance Compliance

• Initiate, maintain and monitor quality standards to ensure they are followed and accurately reported

• Informal 6 sigma and ISO training for compliance Concept Creation

• The ability to create unique solutions using the simplest and most cost-effective methods Invention

• While I have a US patent regarding a uniquely designed gearbox with great advantages for the wind turbine industry, I am working on several other designs which are near patent readiness, in the automotive, sporting and outdoor industries Milestone and Time Management

• Utilized various tracking and reporting methods to ensure accurate time management was being reported and milestones were met

Personnel Management

• Management of all personnel involved in the design (Mechanical / Electrical) & manufacturing (machinists / fabricators / assemblers / riggers) to complete projects within budget, on time and with the highest degree of accuracy, quality and safety

• Management of subcontractors and vendors to supply needed material on time and in an organized and professional manner

Documentation Preparation

• Engineering drawings, BOMs, task orders, operational manuals, maintenance manuals, technical proposals, costing information, status reports, financial reports, financial deviations, IPT presentations, Quarterly Presentations, etc. Risk Assessment and Mitigation

• All projects have risks. The key to having a smooth project is to identify the risks early, and find solutions to mitigate those risks before they interrupt the project. 25 years of being a program manager have sharpened my skills to identify risks and provide solutions. Engineering Management

• Working in several engineering disciplines to successfully complete complex tasks and provide my engineers with conceptual solutions.

Process Improvement

• I meet project expectations and my experience has afforded me the skill to improve not only process methods but product design and production where applicable EMPLOYMENT
