SAFETY OFFICER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible to assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of the Safety and Health Management System of La Trinidad Hydro Electric Power Project
Assist with hazard identification, risk assessment and risk elimination/minimization by means of sound management, over inspection and planning
Responsible to identify deviations from legal compliance practice and to implement corrective and preventive actions in the area of responsibility as may be necessary, to address such deviation
Comply with Aboitiz/Hedcor Occupational Safety and Health Policy and implement the La Trinidad Hydro Electric Power Project Occupational Safety and Health Systems and Procedure.
Comply with and assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Environmental Management Systems of La Trinidad Hydro Electric Power Project
Assist with hazard identification, risk analysis with regards to environmental impacts and prevention thereof and responsible to identify deviations from legal compliance and to implement corrective and preventive actions in the area of responsibility as may be necessary, to address such deviation.
Comply with Aboitiz/Hedcor Environmental Management Policy and implement the La Trinidad Hydro Electric Power Project Environment Management systems and procedures
Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of La Trinidad Hydro Electric Power Project Management Systems
Assist with the implementation, monitoring and improvement for compliance with client requirements internally and externally
Responsibility to ensure that client satisfaction is complied with to the applicable standards and procedures and advises management on any changes relevant to the maintenance of a healthy and safe working environment.
Conduct routinely daily walk through site safety inspection
Conduct written and signing of DSTI, Attendance register Toolbox talk before the start of every shift and Pre-use Checklist for inspections done and recorded on all equipment prior to being operated or used
Ensure that all personnel in section done Induction and SWP proof of Training relating to the tasks
Monitors safety working conditions, checking of all power tools and equipment safe prior to use and not allowed to operate a defective or unsafe machine
Ensure only competent, trained and or licensed personnel operate any machine or equipment
Observe workers unsafe work practices to determine compliance to safety standard as per SWP- Safe Work Procedure, RA- Risk Assessment
Ensure, enforce all personnel wearing appropriate and proper safety equipment and necessary PPE in work situation
Issues of daily safety officers statutory report for safe work practices and notify unsafe workers for safety and health related
Conduct in-house safety training classes for employees on various aspect of health, safety and environment programs
Report of any incident, accident to safety department
Log all reports and other safety related activities
On completion of activities confirm that the area is tidy up and in safe condition for close out and maintain proper and good housekeeping on the area of responsibility on daily basis
Manage waste resources
Prepare and conduct safety training programs, safety rules and regulations of workers
Prepares and conduct monthly safety committee meeting and toolbox meeting and Attends to daily safety inspection
Prepares risk assessment, conduct safety inspection of equipment for project utilization
Prepares safety and QA/QC department correspondence, implement safety and QA/QC programs for all sub –contractors
Prepares performance report ( near misses, recordable cases, and lost time injuries
Conduct joint safety committee inspection
Performed related task as may be assigned from time to time
