Maintain contract documentation and advice on pre tender and post contract matters.

Preparation and issue of contractual letters to clients and subcontractors. Review all correspondences e.g. letters, drawings, RFI’s, MOM’s, CVC’s for variations and advise the Project Manager and Department Head for variations or contractual disputes. Draft responses and submit cost implication to the Engineer for review along with the request for site work instructions. Managing variations claims including preparation of estimates for proposed changes to the design of the project.

Prepare and successfully approved variation order requests and projects claims such as additional preliminaries costs for time extension and disputed variations with the successful quantity surveyors team and the support of department head and project managers.

Prepare monthly Interim Payment Application (IPA) and Co-ordination with the Client/Consultant’s Quantity Surveyor for the timely certification of Monthly Payment Applications.

Review and evaluate the subcontractors claim & variation order requests and ensure that all variations are settled on back to back basis. Prepare monitoring logs such as client’s payment status, site work instruction & variation order log, contracts related letter & subcontractors/supplier’s payment log.

Perform various quantity surveying works such as quantity take off for procurement, built-up of new rates.

Valuation of work properly done on site against the payment claims received from subcontractors and recommends progress payment certificates. 4

Attending site and consultants’ meetings and continuous coordination with Clients, Engineers and other Consultants in the supervision of the project. Analyses and review all the changes in RFI’s and prepare variation notification letter to the Engineer.

Support/assisted Procurement works.

Monitoring Progress of Work in co-ordination with Planning Engineer. Assist commercial manager with other routine commercial activities. Prepare monthly cost-value reconciliation statement of the project. Review and Certify Subcontractor’s Variations and Final Accounts. Supervision, assign duties and assessment of Junior Quantity Surveyor’s duties and responsibilities.
