Developed an automation project for a packaging line in the Pharmaceutical Industry oriented to the implementation of techniques of continuous improvement of processes in an effort to increase productivity and the energy savvy efficiency.
The project provided Key performance indicators: OEE (Overall Effectiveness Equipment) in real-time, automated registration of stop events, line balance adjustments (inverters speed regulation) in stop conditions, packaging recipes and access levels. It is based on PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) Siemens S7-300 and HMI (Human Machine Interface) using Siemens TP900 Comfort touch panel interconnected in the network, via Ethernet.
I selected the required instrumentation and prepared basic electrical drawings of interconnection of the new elements using EPLAN Electric P8. It was observed that the proposal was 17% below the average range of investment in-plant automation projects, which made it technically feasible considering the economic scenario in Venezuela at that moment.
