Testing RS-25 Rocket engine controller and subassemblies for Space Launch System
Tested complex subassemblies, PC cards and complete units per test procedures inclusive of cyclic tests in thermal chamber. Test data recorded and stored.
Setup task specific test apparatus as needed
Enginering Technician- ACR electronics via Aerotek (contractor)– May-October 2016 Assembly and test of engineering prototypes
Electronics Technician – NOAA via IAP World Services March 2015 –Feb. 2016
Install custom Electronic Logbooks onto commercial fishing vessels
Electronics Technician – DSLRpros July 2014- January 2015
Custom assembled and tested aerial photography quadcopters / drones.
Electrical Engineering Lab Supervisor- Cooper Union College –NYC -Jan. 1998–July 2013 Technical guidance and support to top line engineering students and supported faculty from all disciplines Maintained and upgraded the electrical engineering labs at one of the world's most prestigious colleges. Supervised other technicians and student staff and maintained all lab resources such as electronic equipment, electronic component supplies and tools.
Major accomplishment : - Provided planning, guidance and direction during major move of electrical engineering department laboratories to totally new building. Provided essential guidance and planning of the new facility. Despite the new building being 2 months late in completion all labs were up and running on day one of the new semester. As a result of my changes the new labs were greatly improved. The students and faculty from all departments greatly valued my contributions to the school and the electrical engineering department.
Technical Tutor -Cooper Union College -September 2001 – June 2013 -New York City Taught several courses inclusive of “A plus” computer technician certification and "electronics technician" with practical electronics fundamentals to immigrant engineers.
Robotics Tecnician / Engineer – International Robotics- Larchmont, NY- 1998– 2018 (concurrent with other positions – part time)
Maintained, modified and integrated new systems into techno marketing robots.
All troubleshooting, repairs and system upgrades performed. Directed work of other technicians
Major accomplishments: Engineering, fabrication, and integration of several new robotics systems. This includes a battery charge system that recharged the robots rapidly and also improved battery longevity. Also a vastly improved redundant animation control system. This system used very little battery power, little radiant power but had astonishing range. Transmitter battery life was improved by 50 times over previous system.
Electronics Technician - USPS –Bronx, New York (few jobs during recession)
Maintained sophisticated mail processing equipment
Senior Staff Engineer - Loral Electronics Systems - Yonkers, N.Y. – 18 years
Various positions of increasing responsibility from engineering technician, principal field engineer through to senior staff engineer in the Advanced Systems department.
System “black box” leader supervising 15 engineers
Tested complex subassemblies, PC cards and complete units per test procedures inclusive of cyclic tests in thermal chamber.
Vacuum “Bed of Nails” test program and fixture development. Programs and circuit design modified for in circuit debugging
Team member in ATE development group
Very accurate at analysis of problem faults and devising the most effective means of correcting such faults. Fault isolation down to the component level
Lead avionics “box eningeer cooring all engineering effort on ESM system.
Customer proposal support, production support, flight test support field engineering
Supervised all technicians and engineering staff and the work of all other engineering departments resources such as mechanical engineering, prototype guidance, material control, quality assurance, environment tests, program scheduling, field tests and support, pc design, engineering change documentation, analog design,
programs and several international programs for the IAF, FRG, RAF, and TUAF.
Coordinated all engineering departments including STE and provided production support.
STE system designed with Hp1000 processor
Major Accomplishments- Engineering lead on several defense programs from initial proposal, through system design, brassboard system test, prototype and early production support up to and including flight tests. This was on both USAF domestic
