Behavioral Technician/Medical Triage Technician
Positions: Behavioral Health Technician-Subacute inpatient Unit/Triage: Walk in clients.
Responsible for providing personal care services to clients according to assignment. Ensured the well-being of the clients by providing a positive, supportive, empathetic, and therapeutic environment. Screened and assessed clients by maintaining the required documentation.
Provided clients with personal care, including necessary baths, oral hygiene, shampoos and changing bed linens. Ensured linens, nutritional items and meals were made available to clients. Checked and recorded temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure. Performed and documented screening test i.e., U/A testing. Assisted with follow-up and paperwork as required on incidents and events that take place in the facility. Transition to a detox program and 24 hour observation chairs. Maintained and performed the same duties of a behavioral health technician. Additional training competencies for detox were attended and completed. Competencies included: Pursued and completed the necessary required certifications and training in detox through in-service training and the SLMS. Attended in-service trainings on cultural competency which provided awareness and knowledge of other individual differences in treatment and recovery. Obtained and possess the ability to communicate effectively and professionally by promoting a positive relationship and demeanor with clients, staff, and members of the community.
Triage Medical Technician
Responsible for screening and assessing walk-in clients. Checked and recorded members’ temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure. Performed and documented screening test i.e. UA testing. Worked with the nurses, BHMPS, and clinicians to provide a safe and therapeutic environment. Communicated the necessary information to staff members in order to provide and promote the coordination of care in an effective and appropriate manner.

Transition to a ICC facility. An assistant to the nurses, BHMPS, and staff members. Worked with scheduled appointed members both in the behavioral health and detox area. Checked and recorded temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure. Gathered and recorded UA’s results. Phoned in medications by completing the necessary documentation for medication refills i.e. filling out a medication refill form and obtaining the signature of the BHMP. Call and work with the pharmacies in ordering medications refills for members. Documented incoming medication calls from pharmacies and members by entering the documentations in the progress notes section in Avatar. Research medication prescribed by the BHMPS by checking the progress notes of the BHMPS and the medication and pharmacy listing of the member in the order connect system in Avatar. Coordinated care by contacting and following-up with members regarding missed appointments, well being, medications.
