As technical lead at Surecomp and senior software engineer at Morgan (Surecomp bought Morgan in 2001), successfully maintained as well as designed, implemented, and unit-tested enhancements for Windows based client-server trade finance application using the PowerBuilder IDE and Powerscript and worked closely with QA to fix defects. The application is used by 15 -20 banks both domestic and foreign. The architecture of the database-driven application relied heavily on inheritance for PowerBuilder MDI window and datawindow objects. Specialized functionality was encapsulated in PowerBuilder non-visual objects. The application ran under both MS-SQL and Oracle databases using ODBC drivers.
Assignments included:
Upgraded software from PB 7 to PB 9 to PB 12 to Appeon 2017.
Designed and led implementation of SWIFT 2018 functionality using agile methodology.
Designed and implemented SWIFT message splitter.
Designed and implemented programs for synchronization of trade finance business data residing at the back-end server database with the customer front-end client database.
Analyzed business requirements, designed, and implemented custom interfaces, end-of-day batch programs and reports, utilities to upload of static data from back-end systems.
Designed and supervised implementation of automatic batch processing using the Windows task manager.
JAVA/JSP DEVELOPMENT (2002 - 2009)
As senior software engineer at Surecomp, member of team which developed Version 1 flagship trade finance back-end product. Three-tier, thin-client application written using Java and JSP. Assignments included:
Designed, implemented, and maintained SWIFT message splitter functionality to create several smaller SWIFT messages from one large message in order to conform to SWIFT specifications.
Implemented the gateway processor to interface between the existing Surecomp Internet front-end product and the server application using XML to specify message formats.
