A hospitality and restaurant industry franchise management firm. Lead Developer - collaboration engineering

Initially contracted to develop a single intranet website based on a storyboard. After learning the larger corporate ambition to enlarge and extend the website I submitted a roadmap to include greater functionality via a content management system and a reusable template architecture and then lead development of the bespoke content management system and intranet templates for portals to be used by several business units, including several hospitality and restaurant chains. The CMS governed and fueled portal content and performance via business rules and media provided by corporate. In large part the portals are intended to assist, guide and develop otherwise nontechnical management in the production of marketing materials utilizing ad copy, image-rich designs, and other marketing materials, through a highly interactive and personalized interface. Granular security and access was developed to allow delegation of responsibilities of site and content administration to appropriate business units. A significant feature was the cross-browser online knowledge management system integrated into the CMS, and interactive WYSIWYG promotional material development tool. Advertising pieces are completed online, including image selection and placement, by the restaurant, and are then emailed to the local printer as a mock-up with detailed printing instructions, TIFF image files, and printing instructions. Portals deploy as CMS driven implementations of object libraries held as document collections to allow easy reuse for other Whitbread brands. Liaised with clients marketing, technical and field support staff to both refine specification and coordinate necessary client participation. Core technologies included Flash, Domino, LotusScript, Perl, DHTML, and XML. Page 2 of 6
