I went to China to learn about smart infrastructure in a fast-growing first tier city. I attended courses at Tongji University which is an esteemed civil engineering school. I learned about infrastructure development from international civil engineering professors from China and the United States.

UTK senior design project

Redesigned a section of roadway for Project Python Meteor in Alcoa, Tennessee. Python Meteor was the code name for a military munitions factory. I was the construction management engineer for this project, and my team was tasked with making the roadway capable of handling the traffic from the plant.

Garden Guru Services Knoxville, TN

Garden Guru Services is a landscaping company that primarily does landscape design and installation. I am the longest duration employee, having worked since the company began. Because of this experience and trust developed over nearly 7 years, I have filled in for the owner as Foreman on numerous occasions. In my job, I have accumulated a large amount of experience with hardscapes including: retaining walls, drainage, patios, driveways, etc. I also have experience with underground plumbing and irrigation. I also perform quick onsite repairs for landscape machinery. This job benefitted my communication skills through working with clients.

Volunteer Experience:

Traveled for three mission trips to Bolivia and China with Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church. I went on the Bolivia mission trip two years in a row and excavated to put in the foundation of a new church and lead vacation bible school for the children. In China we taught english as a second language and taught bible verses to the children and also worked with the parents as well.
