Radiology Director, January 2004 - Present

Oversee the 24/7 imaging operations at a 500-bed California State Hospital for the developmentally disabled. Direct the day-to-day X-ray services delivered to patients and consulted with physicians on clinical findings and patient status. Ensure operations meet budget targets and comply with state and federal regulations, as well as the Center’s mission. Developed the first Mammography Department in a hospital for the developmentally disabled in California. Secured funding, purchased equipment, and was certified by the American College of Radiology (ACR), Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA), and the State of California even though it had never been done previously.

Offer mammograms to the developmentally disabled, a population seriously underserved for certain health services.

Gained extensive clinical experience as EGG, EKG, and Radiologic Technologist. Rapidly promoted to the director position.

New, on-site bone density machine saved the state thousands of dollars; the new ultrasound machine allowed for in-house echocardiograms (ultrasounds of the heart), also saving thousands.

Led a staff of ten, hired and credentialed physicians and radiologists, and managed billing and insurance claims submissions. Developed strategic plans, updated equipment, added mobile CT, ultrasound mammography and bone density machines and related services to the business.

Raised gross revenue to $1M from $240K.

Greatly expanded business by adding a mobile MRI unit that provided services not previously available in the area.
