Head of FP&A

Improved financial operations and infrastructure preceding and during the Halogen Software acquisition in June 2017. Assessed people and systems to deliver data fidelity, reporting, and value-added analysis of financial information. Led a global team of finance professionals producing forecasts and reporting, and all KPI, QBR, and BOD reporting in compliance with GAAP and EBITDA practices. Managed Lender reporting and covenant tracking/forecasting. Generated annual plans including P&L, Balance Sheet, and cash flow documents.

Financial Reporting: Streamlined corporate and board reporting through a careful analysis of people, systems and processes. Implemented measures that cut cycle times on quarter-reporting by 50%.

CONTROLLER – Consumer & Mobile Intel Security Group (McAfee)

Finance lead and business partner to Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Support and IT for the strategic consumer business. Led annual plan formulation, authored the “Plan of Record” and owned monthly forecasting. Developed and implemented 3 and 5 year planning models by GEO and Channel. Crafted strategic plans for emerging and nascent products and services. Modelled and endorsed complex OEM, ISP, and retail partnership deals valued into the hundreds of millions, signing every significant PC OEM worldwide.

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:

Global, Multi-channel Bookings Plan: Built $1.5 billion bookings plan from bottom up detailing mix across 5 channels and 40 different geographies. Created 3-year forecast for 250+ customers. Validated plans with operations to achieve buy-in. Organization beat plans FY2014-2016 in advance of fully implemented roll out for FY2017. SAAS, License, and Freemium elements.

Revenue / Profit Recapture: Delivered $22M in profit through a deep dive revenue analysis of Freemium business. Investigation of paid traffic to online partner uncovered miscoded revenue belonging to McAfee. Negotiated necessary corrections resulting in a 35% increase in revenues.

Deal Review Process: Implemented Management Review Committee to standardize weekly evaluation for all Geos including Consumer Group President and executive committee. Improved efficiency of matrixed internal support processes to execute global deals by 30%.

Acquisition Due Diligence & Integration: Spearheaded financial planning, pre and post diligence (DCF/multiples and strategic fit analysis) and led the finance integration of Password Box, a Canadian software company. Integrated financial models for annual planning, forecasting, and budgeting post-acquisition. Made key systems, operational and people decisions to rationalize RIF recommendations.

Finance Consultant turned Director managing finance for 75% of Webroot’s revenue stream and cost. Partnered with leadership across Sales Finance, Marketing, Consumer, E-commerce, R&D, and Japan on finance decision support. Produced cash flow modeling, forecasting, and commission recommendations. Designed and implemented daily online report to track progress and KPI’s for online business by channel. Drove process and cost improvements for COGS. Managed logistics and supply chain.

Finance business partner to Group President of a $2 billion business unit containing OEM, retail, ISP, and e-commerce channels. Led a team of 35+ analysts, managers and controllers supporting applied resources of more than $1B. Modeled, analyzed and made recommendations on deals over a billion dollars in value. Drove spend and pricing optimization and COGS oversight for all Consumer products. Supported M&A evaluation and integration. Pricing Optimization: Spearheaded pricing committee analysis of discounting on multi-year pricing plans that resulted in a new policy and discount formula. Delivered $25M in revenue to SYMC Japan that would have been lost under prior policy.

Aggregated financial operations across disparate groups into a centralized marketing function.
