QUAD/GRAPHICS, Lenexa, KS 1992 to 03/2016 (Plant Closure) A 95K sq. ft. / 90+ employee division of the international, $4.8B Sales commercial printer – this division prints retail inserts for leading grocery chains and national retailers principally serving the mid-west markets. The plant has changed ownership many times – most recently as Vertis Communications and then acquired by Wisconsin based Quad/Graphics, who continue to acquire, consolidate, close and restructure facilities throughout the company.

Press Operator / Team Leader

Provide leadership, training and development of five crewmembers working on high-speed offset printing presses such as Goss Community, c500Magnum,Harris 900, Goss C700/C700I.

Monitor the flow of materials, equipment set-ups, job progress, quality and scheduling. Committed to safety, quality, efficiency, productivity and customer-satisfaction.

Oversee the preparation of the press for operation by verifying proper documentation and web-threading procedures and inspecting, adjusting or replacing slitter knives. Set register, mount plates, maintain water supply center and adjust amounts for proper ink solution.

Troubleshoot, repair and performpreventativemaintenanceonequipment.
